2016 Patriots OTAs June 13th Notes: The return of TE Rob Gronkowski and RB Dion Lewis!

Everything you need to know about today’s practice!

This week should be quieter from a practice perspective, but we still have some information from the past day of camp from the Patriots and more information will be added once announced.

The return of tight end Rob Gronkowski, running back Dion Lewis, and offensive guard Shaq Mason highlight the day.

Notes compiled from NESN's Doug Kyed, the Herald's Jeff Howe, ProJo's Mark Daniels, the Globe's Ben Volin, ESPN's Mike Reiss, MassLive's Kevin Duffy, WEEI's Chris Price, and the CSNNE crew.

Absentees (* notes new absences): WR Danny Amendola (knee), RB LeGarrette Blount (hip), DT Alan Branch* (?), LS Joe Cardona* (? likely excused Navy), S Nate Ebner (Olympics), WR Julian Edelman (foot), RB D.J. Foster* (hamstring), K Stephen Gostkowski* (?), S Duron Harmon (?), G Tre Jackson (knee), LB C.J. Johnson (?), G Josh Kline (shoulder), CB Logan Ryan (?), T Nate Solder (biceps), T Sebastian Vollmer (?)

Returned: TE Rob Gronkowski, RB Dion Lewis, OG Shaq Mason

Quarterbacks: This was a big day for Jacoby Brissett. Tom Brady was 10 of 11, while Jimmy Garoppolo was 6 of 10. Brissett was 15 of 24 with an interception.

Brady Fun Time: Brady spent time with tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Martellus Bennett. Brady also held court with Aaron Dobson, Chris Harper, and Nate Washington alongside offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, per WEEI’s Chris Price.

Secondary watch: DB Brock Vereen intercepted Brissett. Undrafted rookie Jonathan Jones had four passes defended, against all three quarterbacks.

Punt players: V’Angelo Bentley, Cyrus Jones, Keshawn Martin, and Malcolm Mitchell returned punts. WEEI’s Price notes that Jones muffed yet another punt, marking yet another imperfect session. Mitchell also “dropped a few.

Midpractice injuries: None!

Misc Notes: Gronkowski was not practicing at full speed, but he was an active participant. Lewis was working back from his injury and is behind James White in the running back depth chart, as evidenced by his work with Garoppolo (White was with Brady, per WEEI’s Chris Price).
