The New England Patriots are hosting the first of three joint practices with the Chicago Bears, and it will be a reunion of sorts. Patriots edge defender Chris Long is the older brother of Bears offensive lineman Kyle Long.
The Bears will bring former Patriots defensive tackle Akiem Hicks, offensive lineman Ted Larsen, kicker Robbie Gould, and quarterback Brian Hoyer. The Patriots have former Bears in tight ends Martellus Bennett and Bear Pascoe, defensive back Brock Vereen, and linebacker Shea McClellin.
The two teams are often trade partners, too, with the Patriots adding lineman Ryan Groy and linebacker Jonathan Bostic from the Bears last offseason. Keep an eye out for potential Patriots during practice.
New England and Chicago will use these practices as a way to get more high-effort reps in before Thursday night’s game. Hopefully both sides can stay healthy.
