New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had a whirlwind week. On Thursday, he sliced his thumb with a pair of scissors and he was excused from practice on Sunday and Monday for a personal reason.
Never fear- Brady is ready to play when his number is called.
Brady met with the media on Tuesday and when he was asked about whether or not he could’ve played last Thursday, he said “Yeah, I think so.” Head coach Bill Belichick made the ultimate decision, but Brady felt that he would have played if it were the regular season or the playoffs.
Brady said he "let out a pretty loud word I wouldn't repeat in front of my kids" when he sliced his thumb.

As for this upcoming week, the Patriots will travel to Carolina to face the Panthers and Brady is ready for his first chance to take the field- and likely his last chance before his starts his suspension and sits out until week 5 of the regular season.

Brady said he “absolutely” wants to play this Friday, but that no decision has been made. When asked about needing any reps prior to the suspension, the quarterback simply replied, “I don't think any of them hurt.”
Brady admit that he hasn’t put too much thought into his plans for his suspension, but it likely involves spending a lot of time with his personal quarterback coach and maybe calling a few retired Patriots to work on live passing drills.
We’re just glad that Tom is okay and ready to play.
