Former Colts, Broncos QB Peyton Manning takes a Deflategate-related shot at Patriots QB Tom Brady during Rob Lowe's roast

Manning's humor is like his postseason record: mediocre.

Tom Brady versus Peyton Manning is arguably the greatest quarterback rivalry of all times. The two future Hall of Famers guided their respective teams to 11 of the last 15 Super Bowls, often facing each other in the process of doing so.

While their on-field rivalry is well documented, their off-field friendship is as well. That is exactly why Brady probably won't feel too bad about the shot Manning took at him during this weekend's taping of Comedy Central's roast in honor of actor Rob Lowe.

Relating to a Tweet by the actor that was posted in 2012, when Manning spent the entire season on injured reserve, the former Broncos and Colts quarterback said the following:

You tried to take the air out of my retirement announcement so fast, you can probably get a job as Tom Brady’s ball boy.

Of course, it is a silly joke (that was likely not written by Manning but by the show's comedy writers). However, given the on-field rivalry between four-time Super Bowl champion Brady and two-time Super Bowl champion Manning, this will probably get blown out of proportion rather quickly.

Just like a certain scandal which will force Brady to miss a quarter of the season even though there has never been any hard evidence found against him...
