Scheu did not have a good chance of making the team behind a strong depth chart at the position, including All Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski and offseason acquisition Martellus Bennett.
Sophomore tight end AJ Derby and free agent signing Clay Harbor were both competing for the active roster, while Bryce Williams seems to have won the coaches’ affection. Scheu was in a tough place where he couldn’t get any playing time to prove his value.
Best of luck to Scheu wherever he lands.
