Live updates from day seven of Patriots training camp on 8/4/16

Follow along for the Patriots Thursday practice!

The Patriots are continuing their camp and they are starting have their offensive line take shape. Offensive guards Shaq Mason and Josh Kline are nearly back in the rotation, even while camp starters Bryan Stork and Jonathan Cooper are unable to practice.

Back-up center David Andrews is looking to earn the starting job, while Mason will try to build on his successful 2015 postseason. It would be a great sign for the Patriots roster building if Mason were able to start opposite of 2016 3rd round pick Joe Thuney. It’s always good when the team’s early draft picks are successful.

Belichick believes this is a “key time” during the preseason to work on “the blocking, defeating blocks, tackling, block protection, all of those kinds of things,” and having such a young offensive line receive valuable tutelage from coach Dante Scarnecchia will absolutely pay off.
