For the last time before they open their preseason on Thursday against the visiting New Orleans Saints, the New England Patriots will hold a non-joint practice session today. After practicing in the afternoon yesterday, the team will start today’s practice at 9:15 a.m. ET.
Entering the dog days of camp, the Patriots have received some reinforcements over the last few days. Wide receiver Chris Hogan returned on Friday, while tight end Clay Harbor and wideout Julian Edelman were activated off the physically unable to perform list yesterday.
“I think anytime you can go out and put pads on and practice before the season, I think it’s a good sign,” sign Edelman after yesterday’s practice session. While New England’s number one wideout did not participate in the team’s second scrimmage, it is certainly encouraging seeing him on the field.
