Curran: Patriots QB Tom Brady will start tonight’s game against the Giants

While the future Hall of Fame will play tonight, Jimmy Garoppolo won’t.

Tonight’s game is the last one that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is allowed to play before his four-game suspension for his alleged and never proven role in the Deflategate-scandal kicks in. It seems that the Patriots will take this chance to get their starting quarterback as much reps as possible.

According to Tom Curran, Brady will start tonight’s contest against the New York Giants. The 39-year old did not play the first two preseason games, so it makes sense to give him additional time within the offense before he returns to the team in early October.

While Brady will see playing time tonight, New England’s starter for the first four games, Jimmy Garoppolo, won’t see the field. It seems that the team prefers playing it safe and not exposing him to any hits to giving the third-year player additional playing time.

Consequently, rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett should once again see extensive action.
