The New England Patriots might have lost to the New York Giants with a final score of 17-9, but the Patriots had to feel like big winners after watching linebacker Barkevious Mingo act as a one-man wrecking crew for the final three quarters.
Think of this: the Patriots acquired Mingo last week and he has effectively slept over in the stadium this entire time so he can hang with the coaches and learn the playbook. Head coach Bill Belichick praised Mingo’s retention ability, and we all were witnesses to his relentless hustle.
I’m extremely excited to see what Mingo brings to the table moving forward. In the below video, I discuss how I believe the Patriots will use him in their defense, and how his play has a serious trickle down effect on the pass rushing position.
I also talk about which rookies are going to make the roster, where the team’s biggest weakness currently lies, and whether or not Martellus Bennett is getting outplayed by AJ Derby.
