New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski will not play in week 2 against the Miami Dolphins due to his hamstring injury, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Gronkowski was a scratch in week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals and back-up Martellus Bennett became a large part of the game plan in his place. Look for Bennett to play a larger role this week, too.
Additionally, we have to wonder about Gronkowski’s potential availability for week 3. The Patriots play the Texans on Thursday Night Football, so there’s a very real chance that Gronkowski will not be back until week 4.
