The New England Patriots have started their week 3 Thursday Night Football matchup against the Houston Texans with solid play in all three phases of the game. Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins is the latest player to add to that:
The Patriots defense has already looked really good to start the game, holding their opponent scoreless through the first quarter while helping New England win the field position battle – a key aspect with rookie quarterback Jacoby Brissett making his first start on the other side of the ball.
The Texans had to punt the ball twice and now they have turned it over twice as well (once on special teams, and now Collins’ interception).
Collins perfectly dropped back in an underneath zone and quarterback Brock Osweiler simply did not see him as he placed the ball perfectly into the defender’s hands. New England’s Pro Bowl linebacker did a nice job of smoothly turning his hips and moving back – he also did a nice job of returning the pick.
