Tom Brady has been playing catch with college players in secret

CSNNE’s Tom Curran has the inside scoop on what the Patriots quarterback has been doing during his suspension.

Want to know what New England Patriots QB Tom Brady has been doing while suspended? CSNNE’s Tom Curran has the inside information in his Sunday 4 Pack.

Apparently Brady has “routinely spent four hours a day training,” according to Curran. “Also, aside from his Sunday session with Wes Welker, Brady’s been throwing to young college players at undisclosed locations, eschewing the opportunity to bring in some of the ‘name’ former players who’ve reached out and offered their services.”

I’m curious as to which former players have reached out. I’m sure Troy Brown, Randy Moss, and maybe even Aaron Dobson have been on the phone, but instead Brady is opting to go with the college players. If he can get into a rhythm with small college players, then he’ll be on point when he gets to play with Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman.

Brady has also been traveling to Italy with his wife Gisele Bundchen, and has “been back home in San Mateo visiting with his family,” per Curran. This is in addition to his trip to the University of Michigan from week 2 of the NFL season.

One final note from Curran should make people pretty excited to see Brady when he takes the field against the Browns in week 5.

“Speaking to two people close to him,” Curran writes, “I was told he succeeded in making peace with the time off and avoiding the creep of too much bitterness. I was also told he’s unbelievably motivated to return at a high level and wants his transition back to be seamless in terms of performance and conditioning.”

Brady is as much about the mental preparation as he is the physical, so he should be in a great place to take the field.

Curran has other notes about Rob Ninkovich and Chris Long, potential contract extensions, and Bills fans. Check out all of Curran’s thoughts here.
