Patriots reporter has injury updates for both Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett

The Patriots need one of these quarterbacks ready to play on Sunday.

CSNNE’s Mike Giardi has been very tapped into the status of the New England Patriots quarterbacks as Jimmy Garoppolo and Jacoby Brissett have been battling injuries. Giardi has an update on both players from his Patriots sources.

Jimmy Garoppolo

For those that can’t see tweets, Giardi writes, “No one in Foxboro is into predictions but Garoppolo making good strides. Sore but arrow is pointing in right direction for Sunday. Garoppolo’s range of motion has improved significantly. No issues on follow through.”

The Patriots would love for Garoppolo to be healthy because he’s been the best quarterback in the NFL on third down and he’s been one of the top five quarterbacks when facing the blitz. Garoppolo would be a major help against a potentially confusing Rex Ryan defense.

Jacoby Brissett

“Pats have no worries about Brissett’s availability for Sunday,” Giardi tweets. “None. He’s fine.”

It would appear that Brissett will be ready to roll on Sunday at the very least. At best, Garoppolo and Brissett will both be ready and that’s where we appear to be trending.

We’ll keep you updated moving forward. Don’t be surprised if you hear reports that Garoppolo is a “game time decision” because that’ll just be standard gamesmanship, barring a setback. Garoppolo has been throwing in practice and is definitely getting better.
