The New England Patriots (0-0) will travel to face the Arizona Cardinals (0-0).
The last time the Patriots traveled to the University of Phoenix Stadium, they left with the Lombardi trophy from Super Bowl XLIX. The last time the two teams squared off was in 2012 and the Cardinals pulled off an upset victory over Tom Brady and the Patriots
This time, the Patriots will be led by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo as the team hopes they can pull together a win.
The Patriots and the Cardinals will be connected this season because the two brokered the blockbuster deal of the offseason, with the Patriots sending edge defender Chandler Jones to Arizona in exchange for guard Jonathan Cooper and a 2nd round pick. That draft pick turned into starting guard Joe Thuney and wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell.
In additional to Cooper, the Patriots also feature a former Cardinals defensive lineman in Alan Branch.
The Patriots and the Cardinals are both considered favorites to win their respective conferences, so this could be a Super Bowl preview. Enjoy it, but remember that the Patriots are far away from being at full strength.
