The New England Patriots have clinched the #1 seed in the AFC playoffs and will have homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. The Patriots will not play until either January 14th or 15th. Wild Card Weekend will take place on January 7th and 8th.
The Patriots will face either the Houston Texans, Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, or Miami Dolphins in the divisional round. The Dolphins have to get past the Pittsburgh Steelers during wild card weekend.
The AFC seeding is almost set, with just the AFC West up in the air. If the Raiders defeat the Denver Broncos, they will clinch the #2 seed in the conference. If they lose and the Chiefs win, then the Chiefs will be the #2 seed. If both teams lose, the Raiders will be the #2 seed. The team that doesn’t clinch the first round bye will be the #5 seed and face the Texans.
