These 3 teams have already asked Josh McDaniels about being head coach

The Patriots offensive coordinator is going to be a hot ticket this offseason.

New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels is going to be the top head coaching target for many teams this offseason. He’s so in demand that three teams have already reached out with head coaching opportunities, per MMQB’s Albert Breer.

The Rams, Jaguars, and 49ers have been three of the more dysfunctional franchises in recent NFL memory and McDaniels would be expected to turn them into winners.

Coaches with playoff bye weeks, like McDaniels, can be interviewed for head coaching jobs between the conclusion of the regular season and the conclusion of the wild card games on January 8th.

If McDaniels and the Patriots reach the Super Bowl, then he can have a follow-up interview during the Super Bowl bye week.

Teams don’t like to wait to hire their head coaches and often rush into signing weaker candidates instead of waiting for the better coaches that are still playing in the postseason. We’ll have to see if teams make the same mistake this year.
