Entering tonight’s divisional round playoff game against the Houston Texans, the New England Patriots are as healthy as they have ever been entering the postseason (certainly healthier than last year). Only two players were listed on yesterday’s final injury report with only one of them listed as questionable.
According to Adam Schefter, that one player – wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell – will be declared inactive tonight:
Patriots WR Malcom Mitchell, listed as questionable for tonight's Divisional Playoff with knee injury, will not play vs Texans, per source.
Mitchell injured his knee during the Patriots’ week 16 game against the New York Jets and consequently has missed the team’s regular season finale in Miami. While the rookie returned to practice on January 5th, he was limited all week long. Thus seeing the team play it safe and deactivate him today is not that big of a surprise – especially considering the depth New England has at wide receiver.
The team’s wideouts are all healthy entering the game against the Texans. Julian Edelman and Chris Hogan will likely see most of the action with Danny Amendola and Michael Floyd sharing snaps as the third positional option.
