Last season, the New England Patriots had to enter the playoffs missing multiple offensive players – among them running back Dion Lewis. This year, Lewis is healthy and already makes his presence felt in his postseason debut.
After scoring on a 13-yard pass to give New England a 7-0 lead, Lewis made yet another big play in the first quarter. Houston cut the Patriots’ lead to 7-3. The ensuing kickoff was fielded by Lewis – and the rest is a picture-perfect return:
Pretty good postseason debut for @dionlewisRB.

98 yards and a TOUCHDOWN. https://t.co/ikte7vkGV4
Lewis returned the kickoff 98 yards to give the Patriots a 14-3 lead late in the first quarter. Not only was it the 26-year old’s first kick return touchdown it also was both the first ever Patriots postseason kickoff return touchdown and, naturally, the longest kickoff return in Patriots postseason history.
New England is playing a very good football game in all three phases of the game so far – if they want to advance to their sixth straight AFC Championship game they have to continue to do so.
