Last week, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell attended the Divisional Round game between the Atlanta Falcons and the Seattle Seahawks. He wanted to be on site at what could have been the last game at the Georgia Dome, and it would allow him to visit another stadium the following week.
But with the Green Bay Packers upset over the Dallas Cowboys, Goodell couldn’t possibly go back to Atlanta, so he’s had to turn his focus to the AFC- where the New England Patriots are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Goodell is running as far away from New England as possible and will return to Atlanta for the second straight week, according to an NFL spokesperson.
This isn’t the first time Goodell has tried to hide from New England. He avoided the season opener in 2015 as the Patriots embarked on their Super Bowl title defense, and he’s absolutely terrified of facing New England fans.
