On Sunday, the New England Patriots secured the number one playoff seed in the AFC thanks to a 35-14 victory over the Miami Dolphins. This means that, if all goes according to plan, the team will host two postseason games at Gillette Stadium. The first will take place next Saturday, January 14, 8:15 PM ET, and see either the Dolphins, Oakland Raiders or Houston Texans visit Foxboro.

Yesterday, the Patriots announced that a limited number of tickets for their playoff opener will become available on Friday, January 6, 10:00 AM ET. As is the case with regular season tickets, they will be sold only through Ticketmaster — either online at ticketmaster.com or via phone by calling 800-745-3000 — with Visa the lone accepted form of payment. Due to high demand and limited capacity, only a maximum of four tickets can be purchased per customer.

As opposed to the regular season, where prices vary from team to team, playoff ticket prices are set in advance by the NFL. For New England’s playoff opener, the prices range from $229 to $110. Next Sunday’s game will be the 18th postseason contest at Gillette Stadium since it opened in 2002 – the Patriots are 14-3 in playoff games played there.
