Welcome to this week's episode of "Everything you never knew you always wanted to know about Tom Brady", everyone!
I think we're all out of jokes about all the crazy stuff Tom Brady eats, and all the delicious, delicious food he doesn't eat, so I'm not even going to try and write a punchline about this one. Brady's interview with WEEI's Kirk and Callahan gave him a chance to tell everyone what his custom sideline drink of choice is during games - unfortunately for PepsiCo, who's paying the NFL a reported $90 million a year and owns Gatorade, which probably explains why we see the same Gatorade ad twice in the same commercial break some Sundays.
Anyway...
Here's what Brady actually fuels up on during the game:
"I have this lemon drink with a ton of electrolytes in it. It doesn't have any sugar. I just load it up with electrolytes and it just keeps me right where I need to be."
Tom also says that he doesn't actually make it.
"I don't know how they make it. The training staff does it for me."
Just like everything else Brady does with his conditioning and nutrition, we can all laugh about being too good for Gatorade, and Tom will just keep doing his thing and racking up MVP-caliber seasons ten years after most players retire.
Now that we all know that, Jon Gruden may have to make another trip back to the TB12 store. Gotta stay pliable, after all.
