Coming out of halftime, the New England Patriots were trailing the Carolina Panthers 17-16. The visitors received the opening drive and on the very first play were able to complete yet another pass against the Patriots' defense – and in the process lost one of its core defenders: Cornerback Eric Rowe stayed on the ground following the play.
The 24-year old was attended by trainers but ultimately able to walk off the field under his own power. Still, Rowe has not returned since and the team has officially declared him “questionable” to re-enter the contest:
#Patriots injury update: Eric Rowe (groin) is questionable to return. #CARvsNE
The Patriots' number three cornerback missed last week's game against the Houston Texans due to a groin injury and was limited all week in practice because of it. Rowe was listed as questionable but ultimately was active and saw considerable playing time in his return to the field. Whether he will be today remains to be seen.
