Later today, the New England Patriots will play the New York Jets in East Rutherford, NJ's MetLife Stadium. The team, especially considering the first few weeks of the season, is in relatively good physical shape – however, it still has to register some noticeable absentees for today's matchup.

According to the team, three more players have been added to the list of absences; thus joining already ruled out cornerback Eric Rowe:

RB Rex Burkhead (ribs)

CB Stephon Gilmore (concussion)

LB Harvey Langi (back)

Rex Burkhead and Harvey Langi are no real surprises. The former has been out since week two due to his injury, while the latter was involved in a car accident yesterday that left reportedly him with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

One absentee that is surprising is cornerback Stephon Gilmore. The first-year Patriot did not appear on any injury report this week but still will not play today dze to a concussion. This leaves the Patriots thin at cornerback against a team that likes to employ three-receiver sets. Malcolm Butler, Jonathan Jones and Johnson Bademosi are the top options remaining at the position.
