The New England Patriots beat the New York Jets in a low-key 24-17 game. It wasn’t the fireworks that Patriots fans might have hoped for during the offseason that predicted one side to go 16-0 and the other to go 0-16, but it still counts as a win.

The Patriots offensive line made positive progress, as did running back Dion Lewis. The secondary missed Stephon Gilmore (!!) and intercepted two passes, while linebackers Dont’a Hightower and Kyle Van Noy had their best game of the year. There was a lot to like and what went wrong- Tom Brady’s accuracy at times- should be fixable.

So, yes, I’ll be happy that Brady and his bum shoulder set the record for most wins in NFL history and earned the Patriots their first divisional win of 2017.

Alec and Rich look at the wild week around the league- this has been common in 2017- along with questions about the Patriots offensive identity, the whereabouts of Stephon Gilmore, and what the heck is going on with the Atlanta Falcons. Seriously, for all the complaints about the Patriots, the Falcons have arguably been playing worse.

Alec and Rich cover it all. This podcast is available in the iTunes store, Stitcher, TuneIn, BluBrry, and via RSS Feed. Please subscribe and comment on what you want to hear about in future podcasts!
