Patriots-Chargers Wednesday injury report: Brown, Hightower, Amendola did not practice

The Patriots need a bye week, badly.

The New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers released their first injury report of week 8 and there are some big changes for the Patriots. RB Rex Burkhead, WR Chris Hogan, and OL Shaq Mason were dropped off the injury report last Friday and they remained off the list, a good sign for their continued health, while CB Johnson Bademosi was also removed after being added on Friday with an abdomen injury.

But while four players fell off the list, five more were added. Here’s the full report.

Did Not Practice

Patriots: WR Danny Amendola (knee), DT Malcom Brown (ankle), LB Dont’a Hightower (shoulder), DB Eric Rowe (groin)

Chargers: OT Joe Barksdale (foot)

Amendola, Brown, and Hightower are new additions to the report. All three remained on the sideline during the game, so it’s not clear how serious any of their injuries actually might be. We’ll find out if they return to practice on Thursday whether or not they just received a day off.

Barksdale is the Chargers starting right tackle.

Limited

Patriots: CB Stephon Gilmore (concussion/ankle), DL Lawrence Guy (chest), TE Jacob Hollister (chest), DE Cassius Marsh (shoulder), LB Elandon Roberts (ankle)

Chargers: TE Antonio Gates (knee), RB Melvin Gordon (foot), DT Corey Liuget (back), K Nick Novak (ankle)

Gilmore returned to practice which is a good indication that he should be available on Sunday. He could have the tall order of shadowing Keenan Allen all day.

Guy and Marsh are also new additions to the report, while Hollister and Roberts are carried over from last week.

All four of the limited Chargers are important pieces of the roster.
