I don’t know if there is anything to this story and quite frankly I really don’t care. I just laughed out loud when I saw this and had to share it.
The New England Patriots traded back-up quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2018 second round pick on Monday night, which seems like a steal for the 49ers based on the rumored trade value for Garoppolo during the offseason.
But apparently the Cleveland Browns didn’t offer the 12th overall pick that was rumored during draft season. They offered little more than a second round pick. And even if the Browns had offered that first round pick, would the Patriots have accepted the offer?
According to this one rumor, MAYBE NOT!
Would love to know if Browns had any shot at Jimmy G. Some around the league believe BB wouldn't consider "helping" them at QB. Old feelings

The idea of this rumor is that Bill Belichick, who served as the Cleveland Browns head coach from 1991-95, could have had a grudge against the Browns for firing him and that he would be unwilling to help his old franchise by giving them a quality quarterback.
That’s hilarious to me. I’m now picturing Belichick answering all of the Browns’ phone calls, humoring them, and then hanging up and cackling with Nick Caserio like they asked if Cleveland’s refrigerator was running.
Who knows if it’s true. I doubt it; wouldn’t that mean Belichick should actually be mad at the Baltimore Ravens? The Browns that Belichick coached moved to Baltimore and the new Browns team is entirely unrelated. Belichick also traded Jamie Collins to the Browns during last year’s trade deadline.
I just want to add this story to Belichick’s resume alongside the warm Gatorade and jammed headsets.
