The Patriots were also missing a few key players.

The New England Patriots are only hosting one practice during their bye week to give players plenty of time to rest up and heal their injuries. Wide receiver Chris Hogan (shoulder), DT Malcom Brown (ankle), and OT Marcus Cannon (ankle) were not present. LB Dont’a Hightower (chest/shoulder) was also not present as he holds a roster spot until LB Shea McClellin is able to be activated from the injured reserve.

The only other absence is curious as K Stephen Gostkowski was not present. His roster spot shouldn’t be in jeopardy and he could have just received a day off. Hopefully he’s not dealing with anything serious.

CB Eric Rowe (groin) returned to practice according to multiple reports, while new QB Brian Hoyer was present.
