The New England Patriots named five players as Practice Players of the Week from the team’s 41-16 victory over the Denver Broncos. They are OL Cameron Fleming, DL Geneo Grissom, WR Riley McCarron, DL Mike Purcell, and DB Damarius Travis.

OL Cameron Fleming was active as the team’s back-up swing tackle as Marcus Cannon was out with an injury and also likely contributed as the scout team offensive tackle. The team often rewards players that perform double duties.
DL Geneo Grissom is a weekly showing on this list as this is his fourth reported practice player of the week award. He was likely some combination of Von Miller and Shane Ray as the scout team’s version of the Broncos pass rush.
WR Riley McCarron could have been Emmanuel Sanders for the scout team, but my guess is that McCarron was Isaiah McKenzie, the Broncos punt returner that muffed the punt and allowed the Patriots to flip the field on their opening drive.
DL Mike Purcell was likely Domata Peko and the Broncos defensive tackles, helping to represent the stout Broncos run defense.
DB Damarius Travis could have been the players tasked with covering the tight ends of the Patriots, as Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett, Dwayne Allen, and James Develin combined for 10 receptions, 139 yards, and a touchdown on the night.
