What a week. The New England Patriots traded Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers and signed Brian Hoyer as his replacement.
What went through your head when you heard about the trade? Did the Patriots get a good deal? Will Garoppolo meet the lofty expectations in San Francisco? What does Hoyer bring to the table with the Patriots? How much longer can Tom Brady play? Where do the Patriots go from here with the quarterback position?
Oh, and now that Garoppolo is gone the Patriots can use their franchise tag on a different player and there are only two real choices: Nate Solder and Malcolm Butler. And since Butler is still on the team, unlike Garoppolo or Chandler Jones or Jamie Collins, that means he’s still in the Patriots plans, right?
Right?
Oh, and the Patriots are 6-2 halfway through the 2017 season after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers. Football happened, too.
