Patriots open up as HUGE favorites over the Dolphins

The Dolphins aren’t given much of a chance.

The New England Patriots host the Miami Dolphins in week 12 of the season and the two teams are on completely different trajectories. The Patriots have won six straight and are coming off of back-to-back incredible performances against the Denver Broncos and Oakland Raiders, where New England won in all three phases.

The Dolphins have lost four in a row and they might be without starting quarterback Jay Cutler due to an injury.

So Las Vegas is betting on the Patriots to win in a major way, with New England the 17-point favorite.

That’s huge and is tied for the 33rd-largest spread in NFL history.

The Patriots were favored by 17 points against the New York Jets in week 16 of last year and won 41-3, and were such heavy favorites twice in 2011 and four times in 2007.

Vegas reserves these odds for only the best of Patriots squads and it appears that this year’s team meets the qualifications.
