Injury update: Patriots special teamer Nate Ebner OUT against Dolphins with a knee injury

The kicking game ace will not return today.

The New England Patriots started their week 12 game against the Dolphins poorly and quickly went three-and-out on offense. However, on the ensuing punt, the team ran a fake by snapping the football to special teams ace Nate Ebner. The veteran carried the football for a new set of downs but at the end of the play stayed on the ground with an apparent injury.

Ebner went to the locker room immediately after getting back up again – but he was quickly declared out by the team:

Losing the 28-year old is a big blow to the Patriots kicking game units that have been outstanding this season – especially considering that New England is now down two core special teamers in Ebner and team captain Matthew Slater.
