New England Patriots linebacker Marquis Flowers suffered an apparent leg or foot injury and is on the sideline with his helmet. He had gone into the injury tent for a check up. He received his injury when sacking Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore alongside pass rusher Trey Flowers and limped off the field.

The Patriots linebacker depth is already thin with Trevor Reilly out with a head injury. Flowers emerged as a quality weakside linebacker in recent weeks and now New England only has Kyle Van Noy, David Harris, and Elandon Roberts on the depth chart. Safety Jordan Richards is the emergency fourth linebacker.

Flowers is also a key special teams player and New England is shallow there, too, with Matthew Slater a gameday inactive, Nate Ebner out with a knee injury, and Reilly also out.

Update: Flowers returned to the game.
