Patriots-Dolphins locker room celebration: Belichick turns focus towards Bills team they “don’t know very well”

There wasn’t much room for celebration after beating the DOlphins.

The game wasn’t pretty, but the New England Patriots were happy to defeat the Miami Dolphins 35-17 and move on to 9-2. In the post-game locker room celebration, head coach Bill Belichick and captain Matthew Slater both said the win wasn’t pretty, but still counts as a divisional victory. Watch the video here.

“We made more plays than they did,” Belichick said in his breakdown. “It’s not our best football, we got to do a better job, we’re gonna need better than this. Obviously we’re gonna see these guys again in two weeks. We need a good week this week on Buffalo, we need a real good week here. It’s a team we don’t know very well, had a lot of changes, we know that they’re going to be a problem on both sides of the ball. Let’s keep grinding away here. Another good week.”

The Patriots players seemed a little reserved, too, with tight end Rob Gronkowski caught saying, “we needed that.”

The happiest interaction was among Duron Harmon, Stephon Gilmore, and team owner Robert Kraft as the three discussed the game-sealing interception.

“He held on to it,” Harmon said to Kraft about Gilmore. “Such a good teammate, man. He did that for me.”

The Patriots will need to play at a higher level in the coming weeks if they want to remain unscathed after their three-game road trip. Watch the video here.
