The New England Patriots should receive a nice boost in their secondary as cornerback Stephon Gilmore told media members that he expects to return on Sunday against the Denver Broncos. Gilmore missed the past three games with a concussion and ankle injury, but appears to be healthy after the bye week.
Gilmore will be a nice addition as the Patriots will have to defend a quality receiver duo in Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. Gilmore will likely be tasked with covering Thomas while Malcolm Butler will cover Sanders.
The Patriots excelled on defense while Gilmore was sidelined with his injury as back-up Johnson Bademosi stepped into a starting role. With Gilmore back in the line-up, along with Eric Rowe returning to the practice field and the weekly successes of Jonathan Jones, it will be interesting to see where Bademosi falls on the depth chart.
