The New England Patriots will not be returning home to Foxborough after facing the Denver Broncos, but will instead practice at the Air Force facilities, according to the Denver Post.
“The Patriots are holding over in Colorado Springs as opposed to returning to New England as part of their preparations for a Nov. 19 game against the Oakland Raiders in Mexico City,” the Post reports. “Beyond team-building prior to an international trip, the move also allows the Patriots to train at altitude. The Air Force Academy is located 7,258 feet above sea level, just shy of Mexico City at 7,382.”
The Patriots will already try adjusting to the altitude against the Broncos and will stay in the elevation with a second-straight high altitude game to follow in Mexico City against the Oakland Raiders.
Perhaps this will be enough to give the Patriots an extra edge over the Raiders.
