The (10-3) New England Patriots travel to face the (11-2) Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Patriots are fighting for homefield advantage on Sunday with a win keeping their hopes alive and a loss eliminating them from the #1 seed. In fact, a Steelers victory and a loss by the Jacksonville Jaguars at home against the Houston Texans secures the #1 seed and homefield advantage for Pittsburgh, so this is a “must-win” game for New England.
A loss by the Patriots and win by the Jaguars would also vault Jacksonville into the #2 seed, forcing New England into the #3 spot with a game during wild card weekend. The Patriots have earned a first round bye for seven straight seasons dating back to 2010, so to lose out to the Jaguars would be a major upset.
