How the heck did the New England Patriots pull that off against the Pittsburgh Steelers, temporarily lose it, and then pull it off again? This game had the comeback of Super Bowl LI and the impossible play by the other team and subsequent goal line interception of Super Bowl XLIX, without the same stakes.
What more could you ask for?
Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Dion Lewis, and Brandin Cooks are the clear centerpieces in this Patriots offense, but the superhuman final drive by Gronkowski showed how dominant they can really be when he’s playing at a high level. Brady did make a few bad throws and Alec explains the root of those problems and if they’re of any concern moving forward.
The defense was terrible on third down, but they still held a potent Pittsburgh team to 24 points, so it wasn’t all negative and they should get Kyle Van Noy and Alan Branch back in the line-up soon. Rich argues that Van Noy’s absence is the reason for the defensive struggles as of late.
Oh, and then the Bills come to town this week as the Patriots have to keep winning games to maintain their homefield advantage.
