New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick joined Bob Socci to break down the team’s biggest plays against the Buffalo Bills from week 16. You can watch the video here.
Belichick starts by breaking down the defense’s crucial fourth down stop with create complementary plays by pass rusher Deatrich Wise, linebacker Marquis Flowers, and safety Devin McCourty, along with some strong coverage by linebacker Jordan Richards to force Tyrod Taylor to hold on to the football.
The second play was a stop on a bootleg play by Taylor, with Belichick highlighting how Bills tight end Charles Clay is a focal point of the Buffalo offense. Defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois drops back and knocks Clay off his timing, allowing other players on the Patriots defense to adjust to the bootleg and create a sack opportunity for Malcom Brown.
Belichick also analyzes the 12-yard touchdown catch-and-run by Dion Lewis, with a huge assist to left tackle Nate Solder, center David Andrews, and right guard Shaq Mason for their blocking down the field.
The final play is Malcolm Butler’s sack thanks to a creative blitz and excellent coverage down the field by Jordan Richards.
