Later today, the New England Patriots will host the New York Jets in the regular season finale. While the visitors do not have much to play for, the Patriots will try to secure the AFC's top playoff seed and by extension, homefield advantage throughout the conference's postseason race. However, the team will have to do so without two core contributors.
According to reports by ESPN's Adam Schefter and NBC Boston's Michael Giardi, neither running back James White nor wide receiver Chris Hogan are expected to play today. Both offensive skill position players were listed as "questionable" on Friday's last injury report of the week.
While Hogan will miss his third straight game due to a shoulder injury, White will miss his second because of an ankle issue. The running back's expected absence puts further pressure on the position depth chart: With Rex Burkhead and Mike Gillislee – and now James White – already ruled out for today's game, New England will enter the contest with only Dion Lewis and Brandon Bolden available at running back.
