The New England Patriots defeated the Buffalo Bills 23-3 on the road on Sunday to improve to 10-2. Naturally, there were a lot of happy faces in following the game – two of them belonging to team owner Robert Kraft and his son Jonathan, the club's president. As usual, the two greeted the Patriots players upon entering the locker room as a recent clip on patriots.com shows.
The Krafts, among others, spoke to wide receiver Danny Amendola, quarterback Tom Brady – who commented on the game with a quick “just keep going” – and defensive tackle Malcom Brown before chatting with defensive edge Eric Lee. The 23-year old joined the Patriots only two weeks ago from Buffalo's practice squad and delivered the best game of his young career against his former team.
“I think they realize they made a mistake,” Jonathan Kraft told the 2016 undrafted free agent. Lee, who spent the first two months of the season with the Bills, finished the game with 1.5 sacks, an interception and four tackles.
After the congratulations, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick took the stage to address his team. “That's a way to come in here and grind it out on the road,” Belichick said. “It's alway tough in the division, always tough up here. But we'll just keep grinding.” The future Hall of Famer also praised the offense for its ball security before noting that the Patriots are “moving on” – but not before Wednesday.
After Belichick's speech, team captain Matthew Slater broke down the traditional postgame huddle. “That's a team win. We keep doing that, we're going to be alright,” Slater told his teammates. “It's not easy to win 10 games in this league. How do we feel about being 10-2?” Aww yeah.
