The New England Patriots had an opening on the practice squad after promoting WR Bernard Reedy and DL Geneo Grissom to the active roster. They signed DT Marcus Hardison, but still had an open roster position.
The Patriots filled that final slot by signing OL Jason King, an undrafted rookie out of Purdue. The 6’4, 310-pound interior lineman spent the offseason with the Patriots and has been on-and-off the roster ever since. He was on the practice squad for three weeks at the end of September through the beginning of October, and then latched on to the Baltimore Ravens practice squad for two weeks.
New England had signed King to the active roster from November 28th through December 2nd when the team was concerned about offensive line depth since LaAdrian Waddle was unable to practice.
