The New England Patriots took the field for Wednesday’s practice in preparation of the Miami Dolphins and there were some notable absences, according to multiple reports.
Quarterback Tom Brady, tight end Rob Gronkowski, right tackle Marcus Cannon, defensive lineman Deatrich Wise, linebacker Kyle Van Noy, and cornerback Malcolm Butler were all absent from the practice field. Gronkowski was not available to practice because of his suspension, while Cannon and Van Noy have been battling lower leg injuries. We will have more information on the other absences later.
On a positive note, wide receiver Chris Hogan returned to the practice field, which is a great development. He’ll provide immediately value for the offense with Gronkowski not playing against the Dolphins, and he’s also had a lot of success against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the past.
We’ll provide more information when available.
