Super Bowl LI Patriots vs Falcons: Wednesday injury report; DT Alan Branch added with toe injury

The Patriots released their first practice report if the week today.

After arriving in Houston on Monday, the New England Patriots have returned to the practice fields today. Even though six players were limited, the team once again had perfect participation for today’s session.

According to the Patriots, their participation report looks as follows:

Limited participation

TE Martellus Bennett (knee)

DT Alan Branch (toe)

SS Nate Ebner (concussion)

LB Dont'a Hightower (shoulder)

WR Chris Hogan (thigh)

WR Malcolm Mitchell (knee)

The Patriots have added one player to the report when compared to last Friday’s: defensive tackle Alan Branch. The veteran has been New England’s best and most consistent interior defensive lineman all season long, so his injury status should be monitored closely by the team.

The other five players on today’s report were all listed as limited participants on last week’s final report as well. They are expected to be ready to go on Sunday.

In the “positive news” department, the team has removed four players from the report today: Wide receiver Danny Amendola (ankle), running back Brandon Bolden (knee), kicker Stephen Gostkowski (illness) and defensive end Jabaal Sheard (knee) were all practicing without limitations today.
