Patriots QB Tom Brady wins Super Bowl LI MVP award

No player has ever won four Super Bowl MVPs – until today.

The New England Patriots have won one of the craziest games in NFL history and are now world champions for a fifth time. Simultaneously, quarterback Tom Brady has won his fifth Super Bowl – and now stands alone as the only quarterback to win the big game five times.

As a result of his play and for bringing his team back from 25 points down in the late third quarter, Brady has been named the most valuable player of Super Bowl LI. And he earned it by playing transcendent in the latter parts of the game.

Overall, Brady finished the game with the following stats:

Attempts: 62

Completions: 43

Yards: 466

Touchdowns: 2

Interceptions: 1

The attempts, completions and passing yards are both new Super Bowl records. As is Brady’s fourth MVP award. And while the first half was a struggle for the Patriots’ offense and saw a pick-six thrown by New England’s quarterback, the second half once again showed why Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever grace the face of the earth.
