Field Yates of ESPN is reporting that former Bengal’s running back Rex Burkhead is taking a visit to Foxborough today:

He’s been on the wish list of many Patriots pundits, and it now appears there is some interest from the organization.

A sixth-round pick out of Nebraska in the 2013 draft, Burkhead’s value has been in his ability to contribute in all phases. He is reliable in pass protection, has consistent hands out of the backfield, and at 215-220 pounds he can hold him own when running between the tackles.

Also according to Field Yates, Burkhead visted the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.

With former Patriots LeGarrette Blount and Brandon Bolden testing free agency, New England’s current backfield consists of only four players: Dion Lewis, James White, D.J. Foster, and Tyler Gaffney.
