The first wave of free agency is in the books and the New England Patriots were the knockout victors. They added a few key players like CB Stephon Gilmore, TE Dwayne Allen, and WR Brandin Cooks, while they also re-signed the likes of LB Dont’a Hightower, DT Alan Branch, and FS Duron Harmon.
The team that won the Super Bowl got even better.
There are a few moves still left to make as the Patriots could add another running back or pass rusher, or trade QB Jimmy Garoppolo or CB Malcolm Butler.
And that leads to the question: How much would it take for you to trade Butler?
There’s an asking price for every single player on the roster- you’d have to at least answer the phone if the Cleveland Browns were offering every single draft pick in 2017, 2018, and 2019 for QB Tom Brady- and Butler is no exception.
The New Orleans Saints are hot on Butler’s tail and they have the #11 and #32 picks in the first round. The Patriots might be willing to take the #11 overall pick and let Butler go to the Saints. They might be willing to take less. How much would you need before you let Butler walk?
