White House announces date for Patriots to visit President Donald Trump

The Patriots are set to go to the White House in April.

White House press secretary Sean Spicer has announced that the New England Patriots will meet President Donald Trump on Wednesday, April 19th. This is two days after the Patriots’ Day holiday and the Boston Marathon.

The Patriots last attended the White House under President Barack Obama on Thursday, April 23rd, 2015. Patriots’ Day and the Boston Marathon was April 20th that year.

Multiple members of the Patriots Super Bowl LI championship squad have already declined invitations to go to the White House for various reasons, including LB Dont’a Hightower, EDGE Chris Long, TE Martellus Bennett, RB LeGarrette Blount, DT Alan Branch, and FS Devin McCourty.

Please let this statement remind you that the Patriots overcame a 25-point deficit in Super Bowl LI to defeat the Atlanta Falcons 34-28 in overtime.
