Earlier this month, the New England Patriots were able to re-sign unrestricted free agent safety Duron Harmon to a 4-year contract with a maximum value of $20.0 million. Consequently, he will resume his role as the team's number three safety for the foreseeable future.
Before getting ahead of ourselves, though, a report about Harmon's past that surfaced today needs to be looked at. The Providence Journal's Mark Daniels reported that the 26-year old was spotted using a foot scooter last night:
I'm told that Duron Harmon was seen at an event last night using a foot scooter. Looks like he had some kind of procedure.
Daniels' report was followed by a similar one by Patriots Inform's Adam Bogdan, which added additional details:
Per a source, Duron Harmon had a minor ankle procedure to remove loose bodies in that ankle a few weeks ago.
Throughout the entire 2016 season, Harmon was not once listed on the Patriots' injury report and also did not appear to suffer any injury during the Super Bowl. The minor surgery does therefore look like a standard clean-up procedure that will likely not impact his availability come OTAs and minicamp in about two months.
