The New England Patriots have selected UCLA OT Conor McDermott with the 211th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. The Patriots packaged their two remaining picks (216th, 239th) to move up and acquire McDermott.
McDermott is the second offensive tackle that the Patriots have selected and he’s a high upside prospect that fell after a disastrous outing against first overall pick Texas A&M EDGE Myles Garrett. McDemott joins a crowded offensive tackle group in New England, with Nate Solder, Marcus Cannon, Cameron Fleming, LaAdrian Waddle, and third round pick Antonio Garcia.
