UPDATE: RB Adrian Peterson leaves Patriots visit without a contract

New, comments

The Patriots have not signed the All Pro running back.

The New England Patriots were visiting with 10-year veteran and 7-time All Pro running back Adrian Peterson on Monday. Peterson left the visit without a contract offer, per ESPN’s Field Yates.

The Patriots are in no rush to sign a running back with Dion Lewis, James White, and Rex Burkhead all under contract.

Peterson joins a long list of veterans like LeGarrette Blount, Jamaal Charles, Rashad Jennings, Justin Forsett, James Starks, and DeAngelo Williams that might have to wait until after the 2017 NFL Draft for a contract; the upcoming draft is considered one of the deepest at the running back position in recent memory.

We’ll continue to monitor this story in the coming days and weeks.
